Tesla Brake Maintenance & Cabin Air Filter Exchange for Truckee

You now have an informed source of information for Tesla right here in Truckee at Quality Automotive Servicing.  Tom Harmon, Service Manager at QAS  shares with customers what he has learned directly from Tesla trainers.

Check brake fluid – Clean and Lubricate Calipers

It is recommended by Tesla that a brake fluid health check be performed every 4 years and that Tesla brake calipers be cleaned and lubricated annually. This is imperative for Teslas operating in cold weather regions.  At  Quality Automotive Servicing all brake services include inspecting the brake pads and rotors for wear and making a recommendation and timeline for replacement.

Quality Automotive Servicing recommends cleaning and

lubricating all brake calipers every

12 months or 12,500 miles for braking efficiency and protection of components.

Cabin Air Filter Replacement Intervals

Your Tesla vehicle is equipped with an air filter that prevents pollen, industrial particles, road dust and other particulates from entering through the vents.

The schedule for changing the air filter may be different depending on the environment. Truckee and Lake Tahoe has a tremendous amount of dust, smoke and particles in the air.  For this reason, we suggest cabin air filter replacement  as follows:

Model S – Replace your cabin air filter every 3 years

Model 3 - Replace your cabin air filter every 2 years

Model X - Replace your cabin air filter every 3 years

Model Y - Replace your cabin air filter every 2 years

To check if your vehicle needs cabin air filter replacement and for the latest recommended schedule, tap ‘Controls’ > ‘Service’ > ‘Maintenance’ on your vehicle touchscreen.
