"Employee of the Year" awarded to Gary Gunter, QAS General Manager
September 2023; Once a year an outstanding employee is awarded “Employee of the Year” at the Talk of the Town awards from the Truckee/Donner Chamber of Commerce. No one is more deserving than the 2023 award-winner Gary Gunter, General Manager at Quality Automotive Servicing in Truckee. Gary came up through the ranks of the company starting as a young and “green” service advisor at just 19 years of age. He quickly proved himself as the person who connects with customers and goes above and beyond to be sure their cars are well taken care of. Over the years he has been a learner, teacher, and motivator always bringing a positive influence to the team he now oversees. Congratulations Gary, you deserve this one.
QAS Recognized as "Outstanding Industry Partner" by Truckee Tahoe School District - CTE
Quality Automotive Service is passionate about offering students opportunities to pursue automotive training and learn about careers in the automotive repair industry. Recently the owners and QAS team were recognized for their efforts by the Truckee Tahoe Unified School District and the Career Technical Education program leaders Chelsea Walterscheid and Todd Wold. Quality Automotive Servicing offers internships for high school students and an apprentice programs for high school graduates who pursue a degree in Automotive Technology.
Moira Goin Awarded Scholarship From Local Chapter of Soroptimist International
Apprentice technician Moira Goin has received a $1000 scholarship from Soroptimist International of Truckee/Donner. Moira joined the Quality Automotive Servicing team of mechanics as an apprentice in the fall of 2021. She is training under the master technicians at this highly regarded full-service shop in Truckee, CA while working toward her degree at TMCC (Truckee Meadows Community College) in Automotive Technologies. Moira is the first woman to enter into the Quality Automotive Servicing apprentice program. “She is learning the trade quickly and is acquiring the knowledge and confidence that will help pave the way for women in automotive repair,” states Sheila Greeno, co-owner.
